Habitat development and consulting

In an earlier career, Paul was a professional chainsaw operator and ISA certified arborist for more than twenty years. His skills with the chainsaw in municipal settings made operating in the whitetail woods a recreational experience. After decades of performing timber stand improvement and timber harvesting projects, Paul has developed the experience and knowledge to understand what whitetails really want in their daily lives. Because he lives where snow may cover the ground for several months, tracking big bucks in the snow has helped him unravel the mysteries of what a mature buck needs.

Many of the whitetail “experts” sharing their “knowledge” on the internet today have got it all wrong, and are making huge mistakes in their habitat work, designs, and teachings. Conversely, a select few actually know what they are talking about, and provide sound advice. The reality is this: if you want to really enjoy whitetail hunting, a great place to hunt is a must! Many properties will never be able to offer great hunting, due to access limitations, or a lack of cover, yet nearly all properties can be improved with knowledge and hard work. The In Ground Blind can play a pivotal role in making bucks vulnerable to a new harvest strategy, especially where wooded cover is sparse.

Paul offers his knowledge to big-buck addicts through seminars and private property tours. He may be hired for a day or several at a time to get you started down the path of growing and harvesting mature bucks on a regular basis. He may also save you decades of anguish by showing you why your property may be a poor place to spend your time hunting for a monster. Individual meetings are typical, but if you are interested in hosting a group of like-minded hunters (your own group, or hunters or owners of neighboring properties) you can reduce your costs many-fold and increase the number of big bucks in your greater hunting area. If you do it right, you might even make a little money by hosting.
